Dear ABWA Friends,

District Conference Season came to an end in May, yet the synergy from those conferences is still building around the mission of the American Business Women’s Association.  I think I speak for us all when I imply that we all walked way with a sense of being a supporter and a cheerleader for the association’s efforts in moving our organization forward by promoting best practices as well as advancing our technology.  So many EXCITING things were unveiled that it gave us a sense of ownership to the ongoing changes of our day-to-day membership.  We will be the first to change, but as members, can we embrace it?  The answer is YES!

So how do we embrace change?  By utilizing the resources that are available to us through ABWA National and the information we receive at district and national conferences.  Remember, what we put into this organization and our membership is what we get out of it, not only on an individual level, but on a group level as well.  Your group will need to work together to maintain best practices or to move towards becoming a best practices group.  You are only as good as your team, so teamwork is a must.

Now that summer has officially began, it is time to gear up for the 2008 National Leadership Conference in Covington, Kentucky October 2-4.  This conference offers something to everyone.  The National Team has worked very hard to fulfill the needs of all our members by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, outstanding keynote presenters, and entertainment.  This conference truly defines the mission of ABWA.

I will be the first to change, will you?  If so, then register today for the 2008 National Leadership Conference in Covington, Kentucky.  I look forward to seeing all of you there.

In ABWA Friendship,

Lina Lawson
2007 – 2008 National President
2007 ABWA Woman of the Year
